Latest Ksuite v2.25 – K-suite v2.28 software is verified to work without issues on Kess v2 master clone, tested by obd365 engineers. Here is instruction on how to install K-suite 2.25 and 2.28 version on Windows xp system.

Kess v2 2.25/2.28 installation steps:

Step 1 – install K-Suite v2.25

Run K suite software and install K-Suite 2.25


Accept the license agreement

Select installation language to go on


Install usb driver


always click on Next until installation completes


Ksuite installation success.

Ksuite language: English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French


Step 2 – disable network

Disable all network connection


Step 3 – setup Ksuite properties

Go to Ksuite properties

Click on Find targets, then delete the “help” folder in C:\Ksuite

Copy another “help” folder in disk E: to C:\Ksuite

Close all windows


Step 4 – install & setup software for USB device

Select install USB device software automatically

After finishing the installation, go to Computer management

Select USB device


Step 5 – Ksuite v2.25 read BMW E90 ecu

Run KSUITE on desktop

It’s Kess v2 ksuite v2.25

Step 6 – setup Ksuite v2.28

Delete “Setup 2.25” on Desktop

Again, open Ksuite properties

Click on Find targets,then delete all files in C:\Ksuite except the “help” folder

Copy all files in the Ksuite 2.28 zip file to C:\Ksuite

Delete the Ksuite 2.28 zip file

Then open K-suite app on Desktop

It’s ksuite 2.28 version now

(Solved) Kess v2 V4.036 “External exception EEFFACE”

Final solution to Kess v2 firmware v4.026 master ecu tuning kit “External exception EEFFACE” error.

Recently, some customer feedback this connection error about kess v2 ecu programmer, when he replaced NXP chip and reset tokens limitation on kess v2, then get connection error “External exception EEFFACE”

What tool to read Renault Laguna 2 1.9dci ecu

I just got an MPPS V16 ECU tuning interface and installed it on my Win7 laptop.

I connected to my Renault Laguna 2 1.9dci. Ignition on, I can get an ECU ID successfully but when I hit ‘read’ it gives a error and tells me to check the log files (which seem to be in Chinese).

Any help with this one? I’ve read some VWs for example need to have a fuse pulled. Some suggested me doing that by MPPS would lose injectors codes.Better do that with BDM.

I don’t think injector codes are used on my car, I have a ‘sonde Renault CAN Clip’ device and injector codes are set to off if I remember rightly.

Also a quick Google suggests BDM needs the ECU open on a work-bench but I’m not doing that. I just want to remap for a bit more power I’m no expert so will pay someone to do the adjustments. What’s the best cheapo tool to read my map and then get someone to adjust it and write again?

Another suggestion was Fgtech galletto v54 or reworked Kess v2. Fgtech helped done it many times.  Somebody has done it many times. But i do not want to spend budget because I do have other cars to tune.

In the end I tried an MPPS V16, KWP 2000+ and and MPPS V13. I had success only with the MPPS V13 – the cheap one that comes built into the OBD plug. Map looks good and safe, stage 1 map

mpps 13.2 run good on laguna 1.9 DCI 100 protocole is wrong ( EDC15C2 ) for edc15C3 but read and write it’s ok. tested good.

I extracted my original map and then sent it to someone to have it adjusted for more power. I know those remappers are frowned upon but this guy was based in the UK and seemed trustworthy.

Actually his first remap didn’t work and he did it again in another software which did work. He said “WinOLS on this occasion being through is a bad thing….Ecm / swiftec rules” Whatever that means!

I’d be very happy if someone would take a look at the original and new map and tell me exactly what was done and if it seems like a good map? Anything that could potentially be improved further?


Personally it feels like there is a bit more power in the turbo boost range but could still gain more in the low rev range below 1800RPM. No smoke there even foot to the floor.


Ktag V6.070 checksum error when read edc16c34

I had checksum error when reading PSA edc16c34 with Ktag K-tag firmware V6.070 master clone. Here’s the problem and possible solution provided by forum members. This a long story.


I have a question for the experts of ktag / kess v2, yesterday received a ktag v6.070 and installed the software that brought in CD and to my astonishment has connection error and info has no serial number(L00000000), open the ktag and check that the SD card is corrupted has no information, this PC that used the ktag has no connection to the internet, now my doubts and have blocked nxp or so will be the sd card?

I’ll try to explain what aconteceo step by step.

1- installed as sw 2:13 brought the album exactly like this in the video in Win XP 32bit
2- called the machine and it installed the driver
3- plucked with softwear and he regular start all functional 100%
4 tried to read edc16c34 via direct bdm without pad as I regularly fgtech until before welding the ECU confirmed the position frame not to destroy the unit.
not read the error unit no longer remember that error then I turned off the ktag and as already had soldade pad connected to fgtech galletto and read all 100% ok.
5- back to connect to ktag boom and error and never worked.
problem and the Internet is impossible that computer has never been connected to the Internet so that the kess v2 works very well.
read here in the forum could be the card and formatted the card thinking that it was damage that was already corrupted.
in short there will be a solution for this ktag?

I will check all welds. But then someone can tell where it comes from the ktag the problem will be the nxp or sd? Can anyone share the sd 6.070 version since I formatted my card !!

I got the free sd 6.070 and test the sd and also reworking the welds a pergutna and format fat32.

With no positive results all the same reworked the nxp welds and nothing formated sd card in fat32 put the 3 folders in the root and nothing same error (not established connection). Can I have blocked nxp? or will be error hardware and software not !!!

and now what will be the problem of my ktag? after a few hours to weld the plate removed and returned to put the LPC ktag agreed so that as he had formatted the card he returned updating think was without tokens can check the image !!

but the error is always the same read ok but when writing the checksum error and the craziest and the file has the 500k capacity and the memory would have to be 2mb, tested on two different machines with win xp and win vista and today tested in Visteon dcu 102 in boot mode and not the error, talves the problem is the bdm port, and very unlikely that an ktag not make reading a edc16c34.

Ksuite make password protected zip file with ECU firmware if checksumm is not OK.
You can sure in that opening it in winzip. Unpacked file is 2mb size.

You do not notice anything, he’s read error in bdm so I’m doing writing, and incredible in tricoer boot is read correctly has been tested on Visteon dcu 102 and is read perfectly.

good again, today I made another test to ktag in bdm EDC16 and this time and 1000% ok. I think the problem is in PSA units, which does not explain the ktag as powerful machine that and not read a simple edc16c34.



My connection is normal usb cable and power 12v. In this moment I have resolve the problem of psa units and I use trasdata it working 100%.i have reworked my ktag and detect some transistors dead. psa ecu has checksum corrupt. ksuite save crypted files if checksum is not ok. trasdata save files without problem.

We have a customer compliant that the China clone Kess v2 master firmware v4.036 will do read EDC17 ecu via tricore. He claimed that his kess v2 4.036 version will read edc17 ecus.He tested Fiat Freemont 2011 Bosch EDC17C49 via Tricore.

KESS V2 is a ECU programming tool that is perfect for OBD use, while KTag is perfect for Jtag, BDM and all the Boot application (tricore and ST10).
With KESS V2 you programming directly through the OBD port of the vehicle, while with Ktag you need to take apart the ECU and open it, after you can make the read/write operation.

Many ECU has the advantage that can be read and write from OBD port (so KESS V2 is perfect), but there are lot ECU that need to disassemble from the car and open and this is the case for all the ECU that need to be programmed with Jtag, BDM and Boot protocols, so KTAG is needed.

FYI, the difference between master and slave version:
If you have master version you can work directly on the program you have write on the vehicle (tuning, egr off, ….) and rewrite after directly. If you are a slave custommer (who depend of a master (who do modificated), you read the programme (cripted by genius), you send it to the master, he do what you whant (money paid) and he re-sent to you to write in the ecu machine
it is expensive for the slave user who depend of a master.
